Here is a few tips for people looking for fast turnaround screen printed t-shirts. (These advises are for people looking for fast screen printed t-shirts instead of digitally printed t-shirts. Digitally printed t-shirts are done in a different process than screen print t-shirts, they have the advantage in speeding up the process since they do not need color separation and screen burning process. However screen printed t-shirts have better imprint color quality as well as better imprint longevity.)

Here is a check list for you to speed up your custom t-shirts job.

How ready is your artwork? Artwork can be categorized into 2 groups based on their origins. First are scanned images and second are computer generated images. In the first group, paintings, photographs, printed materials or the similar are scanned and save as digital files of your artwork. Quality of your digital artwork has a lot to do with your scanning resolution. Normal requirement is 300 dpi (dot per inch). However keep in mind that your reproductions will not be better than your originals. So no matter how high your scanning resolution is, you are simply not getting a better reproduction image if your original is not. So in a nutshell for people using this group of artwork, find the best quality original you can. Scan it at 300 dpi or better. Save it and send it to your printer without re-sizing it. The file size of your scanned image will potentially be big. However, supportive printer should be able to accommodate your file sending by either increasing the mail box size or arrange a FTP transfer for you. In the second group, computer generated images, we have 2 sub-groups which are raster images and vector images. Raster images are resolution dependant images such formats as tiff, jpg, psd.

The only requirement for this group is to make sure they are created in actual imprint size (or close to actual imprint size), and are in 300 dpi as original resolution (not resample resolution). The file size of this sub-group is potentially big, make sure you talk to your printers about the size of your artwork file before sending. The second sub-group is called vector based images such formats as ai, eps. They are resizable, non-resolution dependent artwork. Their file size are usually reasonable. They are very welcome by most printers due to their non-resolution dependent nature. When you submit vector based images, just make sure you create outlines for your type (so your printer won’t run into missing font problem when opening your artwork), your image is created at actual size or close to actual size. And of course if you have a printer who is knowledgeable and capable in preparing artwork for you for a reasonable cost, that could be your best bet in making sure you don’t waste time going back and forth on artwork format and requirement with your printer.

Color changing technology by PhotoChromic inks has been around the custom screen print and advertising industries for over a decade. The reason that this technology is still very popular among advertisers in custom screen print industry is the magical transformation of colors. This series of PhotoChromic colors come in basic colors such as red, blue, yellow, green and purple. When these colors are indoor and not exposed to ultraviolet light, they are almost colorless. Discharge Printing

Discharge in screen printing technique means removing the pigment from fabric through the printing of discharge ink. Discharge ink is a mixture of water-based-color base and discharge agent. Once a dischargeable fabric is printed with discharge ink and pass through a heat dryer, discharge agent in the discharge ink will be activated by the heat and either reduce or discharge the color pigment in the fabric. Therefore the printed area becomes so-called naked (without being covered by color pigment). The resulting color of the printed area is usually in canvas color, which is the natural color of the fabric before it was dyed into different colors. The hand feel is very soft since it’s not an additive process.

Discharge technique works very well with vintage looking designs because of the natural look and soft hand feel. It also works better with dark color t-shirts since the dark color t-shirts will set a stronger color contrast with the natural canvas color. The discharge technique can be applied with water base pigment. Therefore discharge printing in color can be achieved. It still gives you all the advantages including vintage look and soft hand feel. The only drawback is the difficulty in achieving accurate color matching.

Most people make an effort to impress when interviewing for a job or calling on an important client because they know it affects the outcome. But what about the everyday encounter? Does it matter? You bet it does! Once you get a job, make certain you continue to dress to impress. It will be noticed, and you will be more likely to attract a mentor or receive extra help in moving up the ladder.

TIPS FOR MEN:
There is a distinct difference between “fashion” attire and “business” attire. Fashion attire is often fleeting and sometimes not flattering. Pastel shirts in lavender, moss green, and sky blue with perfectly- coordinated ties belong on quiz-show hosts and not in the office. If you want to establish immediate credibility and look like a polished professional, you want an upper middle class look. Old money is discreet and doesn’t “shout” with loud colors or unusual patterns and designs. Consider wearing a navy blue suit and power tie in a bold color (red, burgundy, yellow) with small (discreet) repeating patterns or stripes. Avoid large patterns or abstract designs because they look scattered. The whole idea is that your tie must dominate and “make a statement.” Do not wear a blue tie with a blue suit ever. This is a common mistake and results in an “invisible” tie. Consider a mostly-red tie with a small blue pattern or stripe. That way, the small touch of blue goes with your shirt but doesn’t disappear into it. A classic Oxford blue shirt of light French blue will give you a very professional look. A white shirt is the most formal and, therefore, more appropriate for higher levels. If you do not have a navy blue suit, wear a blue blazer and nice tan pants in a khaki color but not khaki material, which easily looks rumpled.

The Relationship Between Color and Mood

1. If color really has an effect on mood, what specific colors impact on mood and what mood results?

Every color projects a mood, there are seven basic colors and beginning with the color red, I will give a quick explanation/corresponding keyword.

Red = excitement, extremes (passion, hate, anger, in Asian cultures, happiness, quick changes (why fast food and sales involve a lot of red). Red relates to survival and triggers our “tribal” roots. Medically relates to anything solid, bones, joints, teeth, rectum, muscles.

Orange = happy outlook, used to treat depression, it is creativity, it triggers our person to person skills. Orange is all about emotion (encompasses the swift changes, choices of red and the sense of self that yellow represents). Medically relates to fluid, kidneys, lymphatic, reproductive organs, urinary tract.

Yellow = intellect, self, ego. (couples with yellow kitchens tend to argue more although yellow is good for dining room) Why? Yellow prompts ego and talking about self, political aspirations. It is associated with learning (think of all school related items that are yellow). Yellow is about honoring self, good color to have around when dieting, helps with digestion. I often drink out of a yellow glass. Medically relates to how we burn energy, so it is stomach area, pancreas, gallbladder, intestines. (there is a reason why McD’s does so well! red creates overeating and excitement, yellow is about self, therefore you overeat and overeat quickly). Yellow is also a color for caution, warning (workplace yellow) because it can be seen in the distance, but also because it stimulates the body to “keep mind on work”.

Green is new beginnings, relationships, color of teaching, very calming, brings down blood pressure. Green relates to flow, whether that is blood flow or air flow. Green is about our relationships with God, self and others. Green is good to have around if you are establishing new relationships, client loyalty, any of that.

Blue is the color of business, it represents truth, honesty, loyalty. It is the color of healing (with green can be very calming and healing) Blue is the most popular of colors. Blue is a good color to have when communication is key. Medically it corresponds with throat, ears, mouth, everything that we use to communicate with.

Violet (including purple and indigo here) is about inspiration, intuition, spirituality. Young children and artists like violet. It contains the energy of red with the qualities of blue, so it is a good color to have around when you are looking for that “muse”. Medically it relates to issues of the head, eyes, forehead, pituitary.

White is what I refer to as the “Christ Light” it elevates any color, so pastels are always calming and take on the “higher” qualities of the color it originates from, pink is nurturing and spiritual because it takes the passion and energy of red and clams it down to the nurturing qualities of pink. Same with all the other colors. Black is what I refer to as a magnifier. Those that try to intimidate by wearing all black are really just communicating that they need direction! (Think of ministers and priests looking to God for direction-wear black with a white collar) Black magnifies any bit of color that is with it, it absorbs all color whereas white is reflecting all color.

2. What is the scientific basis for this cause and effect, if there is one?

Believe it or not, and I now believe it, we have what is now starting to be recognized in the medical community (I know because I am speaking at the med schools and work with doctors, so it is not as woo woo as it sounds) an “energetic system” this system is comprised of seven major energy points, and many minor points. Each chakra reflects certain characteristics that are present within our life, they also reflect different colors. Chakras are cores of consciousness that process our emotions, they are the true integrators of the mind, body, spirit connection. It is my personal belief that the medical community will recognize theses chakras as an integral component of our energetic system, within the next five years. Technology is catching up, and when something can be documented (think of it as an exterior MRI) then it can be studied. Energy impacts energy, quantum physics is also beginning to justify this “theory” but color is energy manifested and it does, will, can affect your mood because it directly affects your energetic system. Try having an overabundance of yellow, I worked on my yellow presentation for Chicago and was nauseous from all the yellow! As a former academic (I was at Notre Dame from 1991-2001) I spent my research trying to prove this WRONG, but it is the WHY of color, there is example after example. I am excited that if it stays on the academic side of explanation and away from the “new age” stuff, it will be accepted.

How To Look Professional For An Interview

T-Shirts Are Everywhere Saying Everything

I am sitting in the food court of a very busy shopping mall on a Saturday with a pad of paper. What am I doing? Counting how many people are wearing t-shirts, what kind of t-shirt they're wearing, and about how old they are. This is my 4th Saturday conducting this survey at 4 different malls.

Before I began doing this "t-shirt survey" at the malls here in Dallas, I was expecting about 30-35% of the people would be wearing a t-shirt. Was I ever wrong. I had no idea just how popular t-shirts actually are.

First, who is wearing t-shirts? I counted a total of about 4,000 people over 4 weeks in this survey. In total, about 60-65% were wearing t-shirts - twice my expectations! There was a variance in the age groups. For those under 25-years-old, about 80-85% wore t-shirts. For those 25 to 40 years old, about 60% wore t-shirts. And, for those over 40, about 35% wore t-shirts.

While I expected the younger crowd to be wearing tshirts, what I was not expecting were those ages 35 - 50 wearing them. These are mostly parents, business people, and maybe a couple grandparents. Most of their tshirts were sports or college tshirts, or a brand name like Tommy Hilfiger, Nautica, or Polo - nothing crude of obnoxious.

Second, what kind of t-shirts were they wearing? I rarely saw the same t-shirt twice. There were funny t-shirts, animal t-shirts, Christian t-shirts, patriotic t-shirts, and all kinds of novelty t-shirts. And, I wasn't surprised to see a few crude or offensive ones in the mix either.

Round face — Hats with an asymmetrical or irregular brim and brims that roll away from the face. Choose soft, medium height crowns and trimmings which direct the eye upward. Avoid brimless hats and low round crowns that emphasize the roundness of the face. Steer clear of hats that hug the face or head and hats that have a tailored look or have a round crown. Discharge Printing

Discharge in screen printing technique means removing the pigment from fabric through the printing of discharge ink. Discharge ink is a mixture of water-based-color base and discharge agent. Once a dischargeable fabric is printed with discharge ink and pass through a heat dryer, discharge agent in the discharge ink will be activated by the heat and either reduce or discharge the color pigment in the fabric. Therefore the printed area becomes so-called naked (without being covered by color pigment). The resulting color of the printed area is usually in canvas color, which is the natural color of the fabric before it was dyed into different colors. The hand feel is very soft since it’s not an additive process.

Discharge technique works very well with vintage looking designs because of the natural look and soft hand feel. It also works better with dark color t-shirts since the dark color t-shirts will set a stronger color contrast with the natural canvas color.

Color changing technology by PhotoChromic inks has been around the custom screen print and advertising industries for over a decade. The reason that this technology is still very popular among advertisers in custom screen print industry is the magical transformation of colors. This series of PhotoChromic colors come in basic colors such as red, blue, yellow, green and purple. When these colors are indoor and not exposed to ultraviolet light, they are almost colorless. However, when they are exposed to ultraviolet light (including sunlight) they will gradually turn into their own colors. The stronger light and longer expose duration, the higher the intensity of the colors. The three most popular koi types, Kohaku, Sanke and Showa are perfect examples. Kohaku (red pattern on white ground), Sanke (red & black spot pattern on white ground) and Showa (red and black stripe pattern on white ground or red and white pattern on black ground) together are so called Gosanke. You might not see these fashionable frocks on models walking down the runway - mostly because the kids who wear them are still learning to walk.

But baby clothes today are just as stylish as anything coming out of New York, Paris and Milan.

That's because today's best-dressed babies are wearing pint-sized versions of the trendiest clothes for adults - with a cute little twist, of course, says Heidi Frank, a spokeswoman for Younkers in Milwaukee.

Baby doll tops, Capri pants and dresses are great for little girls, Frank says. "It's falling down from juniors and women's ready to wear to toddlers down to babies," she says. And madras-inspired plaids - popular in menswear and junior boys - has trickled down to the baby boy category as well.

Look for bold brights, like yellows, greens and oranges for girls, Frank says, as well as fashion-forward color combinations like brown and pink and brown and blues. "Those colors really lend themselves well to newborns and babies," she says.

Controversial T-Shirt Business Sparks Worldwide Ire

A provocative new range of T-shirts, created by Sydney-based businessmen Peter Legras and Adam Hunt, have been on sale for just a week but are already being described as "rude and revolting" by critics.

The clothing, available through the Web site Goatboy.com.au, has been met with a different response online however, with the site being featured by a number of international bloggers.

Hunt, a former advertising executive, said the shirts, bearing 14 different designs or logos, retailed for $49 and $59.

The controversial nature of the slogans is addressed in a disclaimer on the site, which reads: "If anyone gets offended by our designs, we'd like to humbly point out that you're wasting your righteous indignation on a bloody T-shirt, when you should save it for something that actually matters."

But Eva Cox from the Women's Electoral Lobby said the T-shirts' content spoke for itself. She said: "They're tasteless, crappy, crass and stupid and if people want to be seen as tasteless, crappy, crass and stupid, they'll wear the shirts.

Groups Hand Out Anti-Rape T-Shirts

A sea of students sporting “It Affects Me” T-shirts marks the start of the annual campaign designed to educate the campus community about the effects of sexual violence and encourage students to take action against rape.

Throughout the week, volunteers from Students Stopping Rape, Men Against Rape and student groups from the Rape Prevention Education Program, who started the campaign six years ago, will be in the Arbor passing out 1,000 organic, sweatshop-free T-shirts displaying the slogan, “It Affects Me.” Additionally, various activities will be staged around campus.

Fourth-year women’s studies major Peggy Lee said her personal experiences led her to believe in the motives of the campaign and power of collective action.

“‘It Affects Me’ is a campaign which I believe in as a survivor of sexual assault,” Lee said. “We can stop rape if we all raise our consciousness and work with the movement.”

According to Students Stopping Rape media intern Deborah Svidler, the campaign’s slogan is intended to show how everyone, regardless of sex, is directly or indirectly impacted by sexual violence.

“The shirts are meant to ignite dialogue as a way to educate everyone,” Svidler, a third-year psychology and Spanish major, said. “We usually encourage everyone to wear those shirts as much as they can all week.”
